  • There's a ship lies rigged and ready...

    ...in the harbour

Anne accompanied me on a rather sad trip to Devon at the weekend and to lighten my mood I took some time out to use the Olympus Stylus 1.

With the first two pix I have used a program to add an hdr painting effect which I think gives a seaside feel (colour) to them.

The Golden Hind resting in the harbour of Brixham

Torquay Wheel at night reflecting in the small harbour

Golden Hind with Captain Sir Francis Drake circumnavigated the world between 1577 and 1580. The Golden Hind made vital discoveries before returning home with amazing treasures. This ship now offers a fantastic insight into life onboard a 16th century sailing ship and is based in Brixham, Devon the area where Sir Francis Drake lived and worked. For more detailed information about the Golden Hind and Sir Francis Drake

ps Gez, it would have been nice to have met you when we were down but the occasion wasn't right - next time perhaps.

I especially like the first one, like the paint effect. I also very much like the 'Torquay Wheel image.

Another, with me getting wet feet - but being up close to a historic ship (I know this one was a replica) was worth it.
