  • Zitting Cisticola

This tiny grassland bird is found in a few areas of Southern Europe but more widely distributed in Africa, Asia and beyond. Otherwise known as a Fan-tailed Warbler it is unrelated to any other European Warblers. A fast moving, charming little bird that doesn't reveal itself often, these were two of three that were very obliging for once.

Taken on the shore of the Corfu Airport lagoons.

Wonderful captures of a bird I had never even heard of.
Beak and claws seem longer than expected for a small bird.

Not a name that I know either, very similar to the spotted fly catcher apart from the black legs.
