    Still plenty of vibrant colours to be found in the garden. Love your cosmos, they are a darker colour than mine. The hen is a beauty and it looks like you got quite close to her.

        Hi Pops yes the pheasant is a regular visitor so she has become quite tame.
        and my cosmos does vary in colour. John.

            My father-in-law used to have 5 acres in East Anglia. He produced Alstroemeria and Delphinium seed throughout his retirement. The fields looked fabulous when they were all in full bloom. Winter months were spent hearing the seed pods popping in boxes.

            My mother-in-law is almost 95 and still growing a few in her tiny cottage garden. I suppose it became a family tradition to pick the pods and hear them pop.
