Re: Storm is imminent.
Oh dear, was that taken this morning and is is coming from the south - in other words, is it heading in our direction?
We've been having some very loud and fierce storms here over the past couple of days and nights. It's still very humid and sticky this morning and also very overcast but I was hoping we might have seen the last of the thunder and torrential downpours for a few days and nights.

Nice. Our recent storms have all had flat grey skies.Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it. Terry Pratchett.

This storm was last Friday at 8.50 pm and went on all night Pol, cloudy today and a bit cooler thank goodness.JohnOriginally posted by Pol View PostOh dear, was that taken this morning and is is coming from the south - in other words, is it heading in our direction?

Re: Storm is imminent.
There's been a few tornadoes in Ontario this summer but they've all been on Tuesdays. The Weather Network started calling them Tornado Tuesdays.Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. Re: Storm is imminent.
After I posted about Tornado Tuesdays they issued tornado watches for north western Ontario. I suppose The Weather Network can use Severe Storm Sundays.Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. Re: Storm is imminent.
Aye it was horrendous overnight last Friday! There's another picture of that ominous sky in the K&S Courier. It was shot over, or near, Tenterden last Friday (same as yours).Originally posted by escallonia View PostThis storm was last Friday at 8.50 pm and went on all night Pol, cloudy today and a bit cooler thank goodness.John

Re: Storm is imminent.
Awww poor little dog, it's awful for them during loud storms just as it is with fireworks. I sometimes come across favourable reports for 'Thundershirts' for dogs so maybe it might be worth having a look. Amazon does them in various sizes.Originally posted by Pops View PostHad it here in the Midlands as well. One of the heaviest and scariest storms I have ever seen. Poor old Suzie trembled all the way through it.
That sky looks evil.
The most frightening storm I ever experienced was when we were in the campervan (hooked up to the mains) and deep in a forest with huge trees all around us. The thunder/lightning was relentless all night and I was certain I would die that night as trees were being struck all around and David refused to get out, unhook the camper and drive us outa there sharpish!

Re: Storm is imminent.
I can't remember where I first read about them but they seem to get good reports so it might be worth a try. You could always re-sell it if it doesn't work, though I suspect your Suzie might enjoy a 'gimme-a-hug-coat'.Originally posted by Pops View PostNever heard of 'Thundershirts' until I read this.
Thanks Pol, will do a bit of research on them and find out the what and how of them.
