      Excellent picture. They are quite co-operative subjects because they are poisonous/foul tasting to birds so fly in daylight unmolested and sit patiently for photographers.

      The caterpillars feel largely on ragwort which concentrates cyanide (which is why it is poisonous to horses) and the poison is passed on to the moths. We mainly get the 6 spot locally.
