Sorry - more from the reserve but I do run the website and Flickr Group so I have to do my bit.

I switched some months ago from mFT to full frame (OM-D E-M5 to Sony A7) and and happy that I did on the whole, if only because my Leica M fit lenses work so much better on full frame.

One thing I do miss though is depth of field. I used to be annoyed by excess DoF on mFT at times but I find it hard to get the whole subject, (in this case marbled white butterflies) and only the subject, in focus under dynamic conditions. Butterflies rarely seem to sit and let me run a whole series of pictures at various apertures.

These two pictures show respectively too much DoF and too little.

    Too much background detail

Wing tips and antennae going soft

I'm thinking of trying focus stacking but have only previously used it on static subjects. Any hints?

Isn't the first simply a case of to small an aperture?
At f14 I would expect a similar background

The second one is a beauty.
