  • View from a bus stop

Took Lara to her first work experience placement this morning. This was taken on the way back after dropping her off. I was waiting for the No.46 bus in Grays Inn Road just near Chancery Lane. I used my Nokia Lumia 1020 smartphone, cropped the image in Fotor (app) then resized for Web using ShrinkIt and uploaded to the DPNow gallery and created this thread all while on the bus

I missed my stop in the process though!

Hi Ian, what do you think about the quality of thoes huge 41 megapixels images when compared with similar DSRL pictures?

        Multitasking indeed.
Interesting way to pass off a bus journey.
The text is very clear for a camera phone.

I don't think it is relevant to compare a smartphone with a DSLR - how good is a DSLR at making phone calls?

The super high resolution sensor in the Nokia 1020 is there to enable decent quality digital zooming which is not possible with smartphones using a conventional lens (it would be far to big). So the Nokia 1020 delivers a 3x Zoom at a minimum resolution of 5 megapixels. The extra resolution at the wide angle setting is simply a bonus.
