  • Tamron 16-300mm

Only had it a few hours but I can see it being a favourite. Firm solid bit of kit and both the telephoto and the manual focusing rings are very firm but smooth to operate. The telephoto ring does have a locking option but I really can't see this being used.
Flew outside like you do with something new and fired a few hand held shots.

    Very impressive!
If you're not living on the edge you're taking up too much room.

You'll enjoy that Tamron, I certainly enjoyed my own Tamron 28-300 on my old *istD. It still lives on that old *istD and still gets an occasional airing.

Nice to see you back and firing the shutter again.

That's a stonking optical zoom range and is usually accompanied by some optical compromises but looks good in your hands, Pops!

Thanks Ian. I am really enjoying this lens. No problems at all in the garden but can't wait to take it out and about to see how it performs.
