  • Hatfield Forest Meet - The Pictures

Following my trip to the Forest with Ian last week, today I held the main meet with members of Ian's other two forums; Four Thirds User Group and Olympus E-System User Group.

I really enjoyed the day, with fine weather and excellent company. I never doubted that the company would be just that, but I have been a little concerned about the weather just lately! Luckily the recent heavy rain had not taken too great a toll on the buttercups and they were still a wonderful show, if no longer quite at their best.

Rather a lot of pictures from me I'm afraid, but hey - I guess that's what these threads are for!

Fields of gold - it's particularly what we came to see

    Andy gets down to work

And Will lower stll - I wish I could still do that!

Jim works from a more comfortable position

    And Margaret sensibly follows suite

    Waiting patiently for lunch

And this little fellow gets in on the act, too

The Forest became increasingly popular as the day wore on with dog walkers and families alike

I was still photographing groups of buttercups that caught my eye right back to the car park

Cracking shots, a beautiful location too. It looks as though you all had a good day and I hope those patient dogs had a tasty lunch.

I can sometimes manage to get down like Will but the problem is that I usually can't get up again.

Thanks Pol. Yes, it is the getting up again that is the problem.

        Yeah it's a right drag! I use a garden kneeler at home, a folding kneeler/stool like[ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-64970-Folding-Seat-Kneeler/dp/B0001K9ZAU/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1401094759&sr=8-2&keywords=garden+kneeler"] THIS ONE[/ame]

When we're out and about we use walkie-talkies to buzz each other when we need a hand, though we're one as bad as the other now. He can help me up but I'm not much use to him anymore.

On Saturday morning I remarked to Julia that I was glad that I had gone the week before because the weather was not very good but I had forgotten it was scheduled for Sunday and it certainly looked excellent And the buttercups still looked in great condition

Some more excellent shots and nice to see the others enjoying the day!

            Hi John -

Anne (Ann1e) and I enjoyed the day very much - thanks for all your efforts in arranging the day.

A couple from me with the Olympus OM-D E-M1

            Skeleton

Pathway through the fields of gold

            Some from the Olympus Stylus-1
The 'E-Team' some members who attended.
            How low can you go?

I'm not telling who the guilty one was - I bet they tasted great though.

            Regards. Barr1e

Glad you enjoyed the day, Barrie. I'll own up to the chips and yes, they did taste great! I would have taken a pic of somebody's two pasties but my camera didn't have a fast enough shutter speed!
