  • Late or early?

This tulip was photographed on 16th May last year. Today is 9th May and same flowers are already finished and looked like this 2-3 weeks ago, demonstrating a) that we have had a very mild winter and spring and last year was, conversely, exceptionally cold.

    Re: Late or early?

Our spring is just starting. The winter bird species are heading north and we've started getting a few summer species. No sign of Hummingbirds yet but there's nothing for them to feed on if they do arrive so we're going to get the feeders ready for them tomorrow.

We put a hummingbird feeder out this morning and had a male on it early afternoon. Exactly a week after I was photographing a Snowy Owl, a winter visitor around here.
