Re: Mono infra red versus colour
The colour for me. So much more to look and end enjoy in the colour shot.
I want a picket fence exactly like like that one, I'm working on David about it as I'd prefer the hedges gone and replaced by the picket.

Re: Mono infra red versus colour
Funny you should ask that because we've just finished another of our 'intense debates' (aka marital spats) about it. I'd like both but it would mean getting rid of the current hedges and replanting as they're too high and also right on the boundaries, therefore no space to put the picket in front of the current hedges.Originally posted by Ian View PostOr, as in the pic, hedges and picket fence

So we'd almost settled on getting rid of the hedges and just having the pickets (leaving the shrubs, dwarf lilacs, Wallflowers, Honesty etc) to poke through. The 'spat came about over whether or not to get white or pressure- treated wood pickets and whether or not to have plastic or wood pickets.
I think I may have said the wrong thing when I said "We'd have to go for white 'plastic' because these are tacky Lego houses anyway and we should've moved years ago and we would've done if it hadn't been for your stupid obsession with trees, hedges and general clutter!"
Ain't married life and manky Lego property ownership just great eh?

Julia and I have a stand-off about the front garden; she wants it paved over and the front hedge removed so we can park both cars, but want to retain the privacy and nature of a 'front garden' despite the fact we're almost the last in the street to do so!

Re: Mono infra red versus colour
We're in the corner of a cul-de-sac so we're fortunate in that we don't have that sort of problem. We've always been able to leave the campervan on the drive with one of the cars behind it and another car (usually mine) in front of the front hedge.Originally posted by Ian View PostJulia and I have a stand-off about the front garden; she wants it paved over and the front hedge removed so we can park both cars, but want to retain the privacy and nature of a 'front garden' despite the fact we're almost the last in the street to do so!

Nobody in our road has paved over their front garden but several have those drives with small mosaic tiles. We're both agreed we prefer our original concrete driveway.
We have lots of spats about the garden. He's always shoving more and more trees and shrubs in and I keep reminding him they can be high maintenance as we get older.
