Spring at the Forest

I visited nearby Hatfield Forest this morning, principally to check the progress of the buttercups in advance of our group meet later in the month. The buttercups were showing, but still very much in their early stages and they have not yet formed the spectacular carpets of eye-popping yellow that characerize the Forest at this time of year.

So I concentrated my efforts on photographing other signs of spring instead.
