  • I have only seen it on the television

I have seen scenes similar to this on the television but not in real life until today.

I spotted this pair from some distance away and walked slowly towards them as they were preoccupied in getting the attention of the narrowboat owners.

They are obviously fed often but on this occasion the tapping didn't work out for them.

Friends have a Robin who taps on the glass if he finds the feeders not up to his liking. This seems a group practice, well spotted.

Nice ones, clever little birds too.

We have Blue tits tapping regularly on the back bedroom window and yesterday there was a Goldfinch perched on the telephone cable looking into a front bedroom window. Blue tits nest under the eaves too. It's always nice to hear them tapping and also coming and going along the eaves.

With regular attention they soon get to be quite brave and friendly.
I have a robin and a blackbird waiting for me by one of the open tray feeders each morning.
Wondering if those 2 chaffinches go inside the boat when those portholes are open.

We have a cock pheasant who seems to have our front lawn as his territory which he defends against other cocks. He has taken to attacking his reflection in the patio windows, can be quite disconcerting.
