  • BIF and BOF

Was going a bit stir-crazy in the office this afternoon so grabbed an E-M1 and 75-300 and set off for 20 minutes to catch some BIF. To be honest the light was rubbish but at least it wasn't raining (actually it started raining after 10 minutes!):

And the BOF - Birds on Foot - if this lot had joined in I might have had better shooting opportunities!

You might even label this one BOVBF (Bird On Very Big Feet)

Nice to see you having a go at birds and these are no disgrace to anybody.
The first does it for me.

Thanks Pops - there is some debate over whether the OM-D E-M1 is any good at bird in flight work. If I can do it, well...

I think the first one could have been brighter - may re-do that one.

The sun was shining earlier this morning but of course it deserted me by the time I got outside

Not to be beaten though I got a few keepers, this time with E-M1, 50-200 SWD and EC-14 converter:

And our BOF (Bird On Foot)

      Finally, Smoke on the Water

Just been out to the supermarket and dared walk along the extremely muddy and puddly Grand Union Canal towpath. Still no sunshine but I did get a nice 9-frame sequence using the E-M1 and 50-200 SWD plus EC-14 combo. I just wish I had more shutter speed as 1/400th wasn't really enough. This is a crop of about 7MP from the 16MP frame:
