  • A kiting we will go

I set out from home in glorious sunshine heading for a local Red Kite hotspot. by the time I got there (30 minutes) it was overcast and beginning to rain. On top of that there didn't appear to be any Kites around so I set about practising BIFs with the multitude of Gulls around.

    Black-headed Gull:

    Great Black-backed Gull:

Then I spotted a solitary Kite in a tree at some distance:

Suddenly the air was full of them, at least 17 but all at some distance, got a few though:

Not sure what the white spots are on this, they're not on any other images but I've now pixel-mapped:

    E-M1 plus 75-300mm.

Wouldn't by any chance be Gigrin farm you visited!

The pixel mapping worked well, dead pixels bought back to life at no expense

Colsterworth Refuse Tip, Lincolnshire. No baiting, just honest household waste attracting wild birds. The main reason for the Kites being a substantial distance away is that the public have no access, unless you are willing to trespass.
