  • Frampton Marsh RSPB

A visit to this stunning new reserve, still undergoing development, was a little disappointing as there were fewer bird numbers than of late. Nearly all the Godwits, once up to 4,000 in number, had gone and only a few migrants were to be found after much searching.

Little Egret, with E-M5 plus Canon 400mm plus 1.4x:

Little Stint, with E-M5 and 75-300mm:

Whinchat, with E-M5 and 75-300mm, slight subject movement:

Curlew Sandpipers, with E-M5 and Canon 400 plus 1.4x and 2x DTC. (80 metres distant):

And a Black Tailed Godwit that the E-M5 couldn't AF on - roll on the E-M1!

Thanks for these. The little stint is a new one to me and I echo Ian's comment, the last one is a stunner.

All excellent photos David first and last for me the exposures are spot on. regarding the Om-1. I have had to splash out on carpet throughout the house so I will have to wait looking forward to seeing what the OM-1 is capable of.John.

All beauties though I especially like the Little Stint. That last one is about as good as they get too, superb!

Thanks all. For interest the Little Stint is hardly bigger than a Greenfinch - amazing they migrate as far as they do. The Godwit was taken on a 7D - lets hope the E-M1 will be doing that soon!
