  • orphaned jackdaw

A young jackdaw as been in the garden for 2 days now and its been a treat to watch. Haven't seen the parents for a while. Its feeding off the ground and its mastered drinking from the bird bath but not so good on the fence yet.

I love Jackdaws, really comical birds always poking about. They seem to have had a very good year around my way there are just so many.
Look forward every morning to hearing the "jack, jack, jack" call.

Aww - poor thing. Are you sure it's a juvenile?

                Aaaaah the poor creature.

He seems to be managing very well though AND he's found a safe sanctuary with a ready supply of food and water so that bodes well for the future.

Still visiting daily but doesn't stay so long now and his balance is much better. He is obviously adapting to having just one leg
