  • Playing around with my hi-lite backdrop

These were shot just over a week ago. I had not been able to play around with the hi-lite backdrop much as I did not have the space to set it up in. The hi-lite is 5 foot 7 foot and when you add in the space for the lights you can see how it would eat up the space. The young girls were just a fun shoot so I could test the settings I would be using when I want to use it for real and the b/w one is my older son Alex would gave me some of his valuable time a day or so before even the girl shots if I gave him a lift in to town. I used to cheap lights fired into the hi-lite as they are low powered and I found one was just not bright enough. The front light is a canon 580 flash fired into a soft box.

All very nice. Personally I like the black and white, if I may be so forward as to say that I see alot of attitude.

Nice series, all of them very nice. Reminiscent of the sort of images in catalogues, kids' clothing pics or whatever.

Thanks Paul that was all it was about really just having a bit of fun with them so I could get someone in front of the camera.

I get that all the time Tom if I ask him to have his photo taken. Also this time he was keen to get a ride into town to see his mates so it was a bit of a rush type thing on his part

Thanks Pol. Funny you say that has I was asked before I got the hi-lite to shoot a range of clothing for the shop my wife works in. I am still waiting for them to get back to me but this type of set up is great for just that type of thing. I also like the clean background as it takes nothing away from the subject.

I have set up a shoot with a young lady for the 20th of this month who is very much in to the goth type scene and does all sorts of things with different make ups and wigs so hoping that comes off and if it does you can be sure I will post a few shots on here
