  • Good to be shooting again after 9 months

1st shoot in 9 month's so I was a bit rusty to start with but once I got into a flow things went really well. Eloise was the star of this shoot. We did have it sorted for a week before lock down but we were both a bit ill so said we would put it off for a week, if only we knew back then it would be 3 month's later I think she rocked it Loads to edit so this is only a few here and a few more on my flickr site. The 9 months is from last year as I just could not get any shoots off the ground and we all know about the lat few months.

Thanks I often get the wife to snap some on her phone. Sometimes easier to post a picture then try to explain how the shot was taken. After all a picture speaks a 1000 words

Thanks it's good to be back but the bad news is Eloise told me yesterday that she is off to uni in a few month's so not sure I will be shooting with her so much in the future. Guess we had a good run as it was 6 years ago I meet and shot with her for the first time. I do hope when she comes back for breaks we maybe able to fit in a odd shoot or two. As you can see I am going to miss shooting with her

Ah! I remember Eloise. She looks great.

Unusual for you to have shown more colour than mono, Peter.

I do like the depth of colour in these images. Checked out your flicker site as usual.

Pleased to see you producing these quality images again.

                Thanks Garry.

Great to be shooting again. Sorry to say 2020 is the year that just keeps giving us bad times. I found out on Sunday that Eloise is going to uni for two or three years in September So not sure I will be shooting with her much more. It has been a good run run of six years but I really do not know how or when I will find someone to fill her shoes. She really has become a friend over the last few years and the wife gets on really well with her and loves when we are shooting

Back to the photos Having not shot for nine months I felt really rusty at the start of the shoot but after a few mistakes I found my flow So I am really happy with the way these came out

                  Hi Peter.

I have to say, good on Eloise for going to uni. Is she going back home ? Or mainland UK ? Not that it's my business. Just curious.

As far as you being rusty...........No signs of rust in any of these, or the other images in your flickr site.

Looked as though you never stopped. Your photos are always top quality.

I hope that you are able to find another model who is as accommodating and willing as Eloise.

P.s Forgot to mention. I found your set up very interesting, being that I have never done studio photography. More complex than I realised.

                    Hi Garry
Yes I think it's great she is off to uni and I wish her all the best which I told her at the time. She is a local girl with family over her so she will be back for holidays and such like so may well be able to fit in the odd shoot now and then

Trust me you have not seen the first few I shot and they will never see the light of day Thank you also for those kind words.

As for finding another Eloise I think that will be really hard. Just thinking back to the garage/bike shoot I am sure there are not many that will want to slap on more oil like she did I will keep looking that's for sure The wife always gets on well with her her as well and sometimes I have to remind them that we are shooting

The set up is pretty basic as it was only two lights and more often then not I only use the one especially if I am outside. The stand/ boom arm is a big part of the kit and very heavy as well so that's another reason for mostly only using one light outdoors.
