Posted below are some images I took back in 2001-2002 with a pocket Canon S100. Still have the camera and still works fine. With just 2gb sensor this produces some amazing images. Was my take everywhere fishing camera. I have posted a few of one lake I used to fish. Also a panorama joined from a selection of shots.
Regards Ron. Live each day as if it was your last. One day you will be right. Down sized to Nikon s7000 compact camera.

I remember turning up at the only DP Now meet up that I managed to get to, in Oxford, with my little Canon A710 compact. Everyone else had a DSLR and a selection of lenses and tripods. I loved that little camera - beat my old Fuji hands down, which I'd bought in 2004 on a visit to the States. But in 2008 I was off on the holiday of a lifetime to Egypt, so went out and treated myself to a Canon 400d with the standard 17-55 and 70-300 kit lenses as they were on special in Jessops as I walked past.
I remember going out the first weekend and walking round the local reservoir. Of course I hadn't bought a spare battery, so by the time we'd made our way round and the sun started to set the battery died, so out came my old camera. I remember Ian liking this one when I first posted it!
I'd had SLR's in the past, but not for over 20 years and the 400d was a big jump from my little compact. At the start, like a lot of people, I shot in JPEG - including when I went to Egypt, so was very disappointed when the images were somewhat flat. Luckily I'd signed up for the Open University Photography Course (which Julia also did) and learned to edit! Whilst I loved visiting Cairo and Luxor, the highlight of the trip for me was the hot air balloon trip at dawn over the Valley of the Kings. The first image is of the balloons from the air, the second is over the workers village - whcih they were excavating at the time.

construction worker - I was so happy that I lost my shines to take photos of people
This one, even it is far away from a great perfect image, I love it. This lady agreed I take her photo, but she was more shy than me. Sadly she passed away 3 years ago
