  • Avian miscellany

Just discovered that the CF card that I had replaced with a faster, larger capacity one had quite a few images on it. Here are a few birdies from the last few months:

    Female Linnet:

    Female Reed Bunting:

    Great Tit:

    Robin:

    Coal Tit:

    Male Blackcap:

    Collared Dove:

    Female Sparrowhawk:

Marsh Harrier - very large crop:

A nicely mixed bag although I notice you didn't say what sex the Great Tit is.
Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it. Terry Pratchett.

As the black stripe on the breast/belly is slightly diffuse this would make it a female, males having a much bolder stripe. However they are very variable in this area.

Can't pick a favourite from this collection.
