Re: Ooops, there is an alien in my coffee

Well on the rare occasions that I do have a coffee it must be black with sugar and I drink tea with sugar and a minimal amount of milk.

Wouldn't do for us all to be the same
My wife only drinks green tea which to me tastes revolting

I love Japanese green tea Next time I go I will bring loads back

I'm also partial to Korean ginseng tea.

Julia likes camomile tea, and that to me is revolting!

I am very fussy about my coffee and the only instant that I really enjoy (believe me I have tried most) is Alta Rica, but I refuse to pay £4 a jar when I can still remember it at £1.75!

I can't abide the smell of coffee let alone the taste! David always used Alta Rica, wouldn't use anything else but he suddenly went off it and started using the Tesco value coffee granules at just 47p per jar!

I was delighted, not only because of the savings in costs but because I no longer retched and had to open the doors and windows whenever he made himself a cup of coffee.

It makes me fill iffy just to look at your picci of the coffee.

Ahhh - Poor Pol! I think Julia is the same - she was a regular coffee drinker before having the children but she now dislikes coffee and drinks pints of tea every day. She feels she is now addicted and can get headaches if she doesn't get her fix!

And she feels caffeine affects her sleep but for me I can have an espresso before I go to bed and not suffer any sleep issues.

Interesting! I was also a regular coffee drinker until I was expecting our third son! I also went over to tea at that time but even went off tea a few months after he was born.

The only hot drink I can tolerate now is hot chocolate made with water and just a splash of milk added, no sugar. Stephen once mentioned Kath only liked hot chocolate too. Maybe it's summick to do with having kids?

I prefer Hot chocolate with little or no added sugar too, I use Tesco's 'Fair Trade' as it's less sweet than Cadbury's or any of the others.

I drink mainly Brita filtered tap water, fruit squash or fruit juices. It's not a problem for me.

Re: Ooops, there is an alien in my coffee

I love coffee. I used to drink 25-30 mugs a day when I was offshore. Used to come home and have caffeine withdrawal. Decided to cut back and managed to do so to about 6 cups a day, unfortunately each cup was having about 6 spoonfulls of coffee in it. Went cold turkey for a while and eventually got over the pains. I was off it for about 5 years and then decided I could treat myself to one a day, so that is what it is now. The fact I usually use an electric mocha maker 3 cup espresso machine is totally irrelevant! Funnily enough I like my tea weak. I love green tea and infusions and camomile is one of my favourites Ian. It is quite funny to see air hostesses faces when you get on the plane with all these other big hairy butted oil workers, them all having whisky after whisky and wine after wine and I ask for a camomile tea. Amusing.
Just because cliches are cliches does not make them wrong. I do like walking in the rain.
