  • Look what I spotted...

Whilst waiting to pull out of a side road I spotted a raptor flying fast across the main road and dropping down beyond. Parking beside the main road I took these with the E-m5 and M75-300mm from the car window at about 180 metres distant. Around 100% crop.

And the male that had done the fly-past:

Local enquiries indicated that this pair had nested here for the last four years.

That's the first time I have heard a bird of prey referred to as 'rapture' in any forum.

Now you know they are there I bet you go back

Well I did today and there are four chicks which are now quite big, a good record and I think they will now all fledge:

I like the two littl'uns peering over the rock

Taken with E-M5 and Canon 400mm f5.6 plus Kenko 1.4x from the roadside around 200 metres away.

Nice, it reminds me of a nest site I was involved with protecting in the 90's. We had a pair of Ravens nesting on the same cliff which resulted in quite a few fights.
Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it. Terry Pratchett.
