  • Bird on a wire

    I don't normally like taking photos of birds in man made surroundings but this little lady decided to pose for me for some while:



    Canon 7D plus EF400mm f5.6L

    Superb picture, David. Like it or not, that wire is now part of the bird's habitat.

            I got so sick of editors chosing birds on feeders/man made perches I stopped shooting them. One birding magazine always used my bird on a feeder version in preference to them on natural perches.
            Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it. Terry Pratchett.

                You would only have a few Kestrels in your files if you did not include wire/electricity post shots as they spend so much time on them.

                Good natural processing on this one......I see you exposed to the right....something I have found I have to with this kit for these shots.

                  Fantastic picture and, although on a wire, still looks natural. I see them perching on all kinds of things round here but unfortunately can't afford that lens!
