  • A long distance day

After a morning of admin I had to get out this afternoon, but it was pouring down. So I ended up at a small reserve where the hide would only be 30 metres from the car. Everything was at some distance - between 150 and 300 metres away in slightly misty conditions. However, armed with the E-M5 and Canon 400mm plus 1.4x I wasn't going to be put off and ended up with a few long distance birdies etc. and couple of flying things.

    Brown Hare:

    4 Avocets a sleeping:

A lonely Black Tailed Godwit (300m):

    Angry Cob:

    Lapwing:

And then I heard a roar to look up and see:

    And then an AWACS:

Finally when I got home I had to get back to normal distances:

Ditto! We had old planes flying over Towcester yesterday - connected, perhaps?
