  • Jennifer Headshot from last weekend

This was shot on the Sunday morning outdoors with just natural light. It was being bounced off a large reflector but still natural light. Shot on a 5d mk3 with a sigma 70-200m. This is an old sigma and not the os copy which I may look at.

I like the pose but the IQ confuses me. The skin tone highlights look almost bleached out and yet the shadows are also blocked up. The image also seems over-saturated. Nicely blurred background - no exif data so can't comment on settings.

I have been playing around with colour fx and one of the filters added is "soft glow". Guess it's not to everyones taste but I do like the effect maybe I just need to refine it a bit more

Actually, was going to say it looked like this was the result of a filter effect

Well as a matter of fact I keep coming back to this one, viewing it at full screen and dragging David through to ponder it with me.

Gotta say I LOVE it, love it just as it is and can envisage it printed on fabric, as in some sort of 'hippy' style kaftan or dress with one of the greens as the colour of the background cloth. If not that then maybe on a t-shirt.

David agrees with me, we both feel it's very effective.

            Thanks Pol

I know its a bit bright but I do like that way. Must say I like your idea of having it printed on fabric

I like it bright too because the colours are so vibrant.

Maybe you could experiment with a few sheets of heat transfer paper. Print the picci on the transfer paper then iron it onto different fabrics and see how it looks.

I've never done it myself but I think you can get batches of heat transfer paper that doesn't cost too much. Could be fun, especially if you can persuade one of your models to advise you about choosing a fabric or item of clothing to use for the transfer then get her to wear the item for a few pics.
