    One legged heron

    Actually there were two (legs).

    We missed out on the landing by seconds as the heron flew from one side of the canal to the other just ahead of us. Would have loved an open winged picture.


    Olympus E-5 + 70-300 lens - A.mode - f.8 etc

    Nice clear shot. It does look a bit odd standing on one leg but it also highlights the strength of their legs.

      Most of them here are really flighty, they take off way before you can get remotly close.

        Really nice. I am always amazed with the quality of images you get from a lens I owned two copies of and never got on with - but then a bad workman always blames his tools! Well done!
