Lucky you . I have never photographed one. Always without camera or driving the car when I see them. Jays are another bird I would love to capture. They disappear before I can get my camera ready .

I don't think I have ever been up close enough to a wild one to get a shot like that!

This particular Kestrel was a permanent fixture at a local wildlife reserve. It would happily hover and hunt for prey just above your head. He didn't seem to worry about people.
