Is that a great tit or a coal tit?

Great tits have a black stripe on their chest.

I had to get some more bird food today, but it's been too grey and dim for useful garden bird photography here today.

The last three are particularly good shots, Peter.

We gave up putting suet blocks out, as we were being mobbed by starlings who would devour them in less than a day.

Always have plenty of seed out and fresh water though.

The starlings do chaotically arrive and stay for 5 minutes before moving on - they are quite entertaining

                    Hi Ian

I think it's a great tit not sure we have coal tits over here but am happy to be proved wrong Weather over here today has been rather chilly and damp but I hide in the shed at the bottom of the garden so not so bad Have been topping up on food stocks over the last week or so so should be well sorted till the end of December

I have added some photos which shows the set up I was using middle of the summer. A home made table top set up and hide with the feeders off to the rear right side of the table.

I took this set up down due to rat problems. They would eat all the blocks of food. Far to easy for them to climb up
