  • First Shoot in a long time "Boudoir"

Not been around much of late sorry about that Just not been shooting anything worth posting. Ok that's not true as I did shoot a wedding at the end of last year which was great fun but no real projects of my own. So I thought I would try and shoot something different and asked around on facebook if anyone wanted to do a boudoir shoot. One young lady came forward. Well two did but the other one did not want to shoot till next month so I went with the one who was free last weekend. Shot with a 5d mk3 which I only picked up last year and am loving very much. Anyway that's enough waffle here is one of the photos from that shoot. One in colour and one in b/w.

That's a lovely shot, Peter. You've captured a hungry "come on" expression on her face and an alluring pose, but not overtly erotic and indeed very tasteful.

You say you wanted to try something different but from the result it looks like you do it all the time. Particularly impressive if she was an inexperienced model too. I would think that both you and her are very pleased with this.

      Thanks John
I have only shot this type of shoot twice before and they were six months apart so not something I do often. When I said something different I was meaning indoors as most of the times I shoot its outdoors as I do not really have a space to shoot in. The young lady is an inexperienced model and as far as I know never done this type of thing before. I will say she did have her make up done by a local wedding make up artist so that did help with the look but yes I think she pulled it off very well. This was the look I was going for and not as I call it a lads mag type of shot.

Definitely not lads mag. Both versions are beautiful, restrained yet sultry.

Thanks Caz That's just the feedback I was looking for

I really needed to get back out shooting and it took me a while to set this up. A few weeks in all and even then the first hotel I was going to shoot in let me down with just two days to go so I had to find another one. A bit of info on the photo I posted. Shot on a 5dmk3 iso 400 70mm f/s 2.8 and shutter speed was 1/60. The b/w one was converted in silver efex pro2. All shot with natural light as I wanted to stay away from flash for these. Oh and another thing I did was use a mono pod a little tip I picked up from watching Damien Lovegrove's videos

Nice images Pete, I like expression and lighting very much, not much not to like about this .

There is just one thing I would have changed and that is the hand gripping the hair and making a fist , but then I do have a thing about hands in a image.
            Regards Paul.
One day I hope to be the person my dogs think I am.

Thanks for the comments and I could not agree with you more about the hand. I was hoping with the pose, those eyes and the crop that I could get away with that but I guess I am busted I always have trouble with hands but here are another two with a bit better hand placement
