  • Ice - Before and After

I must say I rather enjoyed the recent cool spell, it meant almost having the canal to oneself. It was pleasing to see it in a new perspective. The bends as the canal meanders along its way looked so different. The beauty of the trees and their boughs standing proud with a covering of white. The boats with smoke pouring from the chimneys - one could imagine the toast put in front of the little stoves with the baked beans in a saucepan atop the burner. I'm just beginning to salivate so I had best post a couple of pix and get ready to climb the wooden steps.

    Winter at its worst

    The ice melts

Both taken with the Olympus E-5 - the first with the 70-300 lens and the latter 50mm - A.mode etc

The 2nd looks different, has a much broader beam than the average canal boat.

A ever changing scene Barrie these photo's are certainly keepers. It has been raining here all night and washed away the snow.
