Dull Red!

Yet another a day of flat, dull, miserable light. A joke is a joke but I'm sick of these conditions now. Not a day to go on a Red Kite shoot but Hey-Ho, a man has to do what a man has to do. Fortunately most of it can be done through the sunroof of the car with the heated seat turned up to maximum!

30 years ago I would never have believed that one day I would see a picture of a flock of red kites roosting in trees like sparrows! That's a great picture and the others aren't too shabby, either!

I'd call that a good days work and you didn't even have to get out the car, so I don't know what you are complaining about!

I had to walk 20 yards from my car to get one of my shots today.

The 2nd just as to be a classic and you captured the wing patterns nicely on the other 2.

Red kites - one of my favourite birds, and a fantastic selection of shots. Like John, I'm amazed to see them perching like that!

Had a close encounter with a buzzard this morning but unfortunately I was driving: haven't quite mastered the art of driving at 40mph and taking a photo, nor would I try. He flew off from a tree on the right, flew right in front of me as I stood on the brakes, then veered off left to land on the hedge. Absolutely beautiful, but nowhere to stop safely on that road.
