  • Roe Deer

Took these from the car window from about 120 metres. They were feeding peacefully but having spotted me were suspicious and starting to move off. The County Mammal Recorder informs me that this is only the 5th record ever in this area so I am pretty pleased I got several shots even if only record ones in very dull conditions.

Canon 7D PLUS 400mm and much cropped. A testament to the capabilities of the outfit.

For absolute perfection it would be better if the third deer was also looking up but this is still far more than a record shot. The rarity in your area is the icing on the cake.
