  • Our lady the Kingfisher

Here is a particular lady who is still very shy of being photographed. We have had the good fortune to photograph her for a number of days. She is a little on the small side and hides her face when she hears the camera clicking.
We only have seconds mostly because they are quite sensitive to people.
Ann1e and I took her earlier this week and the first pic shows where she likes to rest and digest from her fishing trips.

Just cropped before processing in Photoshop Elements.

Processed and cropped quite heavily with a twig or two removed.

The two above were taken using the Olympus E-5 and the 70-300 lens.

A couple of Anne's who had I think a 1.000.000 to 1 chance of seeing her fly from the other side of the canal and land several metres away on the holding rope on the narrowboat.
    Anne used her OM-D EM-5 + 70-300 lens mounted with a converter.

The cropped versions have held up very well.
You are lucky having one of these around.

Absolutely beautiful - I've seen a brief glimpse on the mill stream but always too far away and too quick to get a shot.

So when are you two going to start "guided walks", or would that spoil the tranquility and scare off all those great birds.
