2013 first canal pix

We started out on our first trip of 2013 along the Grand Union Canal yesterday with a winter sun warming our noses...

...as mentioned earlier our sunny period soon turned to grey with our hands getting quite cold.

I didn't see any kingfishers today and not much else either as the day was rather grey again.
However, I did spot this:

Those two fishing must be hardy soles. Don't know what the nearest is sitting on but it resembles a music centre to me. Neat job with the selective colouring but I prefer the colour version.

Didn't see any kingfishers but posted one anyway. Maybe the medication needs adjustment

Hi Pops -

Thanks for commenting - I have cut back on the spirits/medication since Christmas/New Year has passed and my glasses are fine . Lots of lol.
Although I did say I hadn't seen a kingfisher today, I did mention that I had seen one yesterday. It is quite likely of course that she saw me again today.

Nice to see the canal and what is going on. My nearest canal is Hythe will have to make the trip some day no narrow boats to see!! Regards John.
