.... to go out today in absolutely foul weather, except I was fed up with being indoors with nothing to photograph and looking out of the window at the horizontal rain. So I went to the hide at the local reserve and practised manual focusing with the E-M5 and Canon 400mm f5.6L. Just to add to the difficulty I also bolted on the Kenko TC1.4x.
Struggling with the focus through the rain and poor light but a couple of long distance ducks and a nearby Chaffinch - RAW files already binned!
Moral of the story - deliberately going out to photograph wildlife in poor weather should be left to the experts!
Ubiquitous Mallard pair:

Shoveler drake:

Wigeon Drake:

Male Chaffinch:

Pretty poor quality but a little better than the same lens combo with AF on the Canon 7D under the same conditions - and more reach of course.
