This is coming out of a crack on the top bar of my field gate. Some sort of fungus perhaps but it appears and feels almost sponge-like. About 15mm long.

I'm told this may be a Yellow Brain fungus or something akin. Come to think of it this is probably what my brain will look like after the festive season!
