Sorry about the b/g in these....I wanted to return today and get a better pov ...but xmas shopping got in the way.The little I know about Waxwings is they tend to stay around a site if the food remains.

What's wrong with the background? These are super shots.

Thanks John....suppose nothing wrong with them but with a bit more thought at the time I might have got a bit higher to get a more intimate feel to them.

They're Beautiful shots. The first one is my favourite though they both look perfect from where I'm sitting.

Both are cracking shots. Nothing at all out of place with the background/s.

That is a most handsome bird - never seen one like it before.

Excellent shots. We still have a large number around in Lincolnshire - more than I ever remember. Some have taken to drinking from puddles on the road and we are having a few road kills unfortunately.

Waxwings - do they have problems if they fly too close to the sun?

I heard these were drinking from the car park puddles as well. It's in the entrance area at a large Webbs garden centre and at the weekend it was packed with Xmas shoppers/cars as well as the MANY photers/birdwatchers.
Thanks to Webbs for not moving us all on as they would be fully entitled to.....top marks.
Typical of "rare" birds turning up in a crowded place and putting up with everything.......mind you they did not show up while I was there today (great light as well).

He he - nice one...keep your eyes peeled around the berry trees and you never know there might be some.
