  • Inspired...the Moon

Inspired by Ians moonshot (and Jupiter) I went straight out as I have not seen it with all those dark craters before.
Shamefully I mimicked his settings - but changed things as well but this one came out the best...
    F 8, 1/500 ,iso 200 0n 7D and 400mm f 5.6.

You've reproduced this much larger than mine

This is pretty good although I think you have over-sharpened it as I can see lots of artefacts.

Very humbled to be a source of inspiration!

Thanks Ian.....larger as I cropped so close....yes probably too sharp.....my usual failing.
        ARTEFACTS...how do I recognise these....
Here's a very close up - are they artefacts - because I wnt back to the tiff and they were there.A lot less sharp but there.

Here's another try...gone with an almost B/W as I could not reproduce the colour of the 1st one.

That's much better - did you use RAW or camera JPEG? If the latter, it's probably JPEG compression artefacts.
