  • My attempt at BIF

The only time I attempted this was once with the Olympus E-30 a couple of years ago and gave up.

I thought I would give it a quick go with the Pentax K-30 and DA 55-300mm while walking the dogs today.

That I had so many in focus is more to do with the camera than operator skill or practise as I have none in this type of photography.

My static Heron and Cormorant shots were better.

    Regards Paul.
One day I hope to be the person my dogs think I am.

Yay, he's even waving his wings at you ... or perhaps he was waving at the Pentax and congratulating you on your choice.

    Nice ones.

The tree's in the background in the last really makes it jump out not that there is anything amiss with the other 4.

        Excellent set, well done!
I was hoping, when I read the title, that you had cracked it with an E-M5 but this demonstrates that Pentax is another marque that does BIF well and not Olympus (yet).

I like the way the bird is turning away in the last shot.

Yes No 3 has got some great detail in it but really all are fantastic.
Not had a real chance to try this in some proper light yet.....but if I get this good I will be happy.

The last one shows how we are in the lap of the gods...as good as the others for an action shot ...spot on focus ...great dof but the bird points its wing into the strong light and looses the detail.

                Great set.

Thanks guys, it's not something I normally do but I was quite pleased with the outcome.

Keith it was a straight raw conversion in LR4 but I can pull a little more detail out of the pure white.

I just wish CO7 supported the K-30 because I know I could pull even more highlight detail out with it.
