  • Long neck.

It always amazes me how long the neck of a Mute Swan is when in flight and how they have not only the strength and ability to hold it out straight but keep their head still in relation to their surroundings whilst the wings and body are moving rapidly.

Low res. as I only had 227 kb space left in my gallery!

    Canon 7D plus 400mm f5.6L

If you send a PM to Ian I'm sure that he will increase your gallery space.

WOW David - a shot I dream of taking.....I cannot manage to get the detail in the feathers when they are on the water.

Great shot David. There's still a lot of detail even at such low res.

Yep it's really 'sticking its neck out', to coin a phrase.

Amazing detail on the neck with muscles and sinews (?) clearly visible. Great shot!

                    Re: Long neck.

Thank you all for your kind comments. This was one of several I took with the Canon as four Swans took off from a small scrape, all were keepers but this demonstrated the neck best.

                    Regards
