Some from the first half of this months. Apparently around two to three weeks late for taking autumn landscape shots and the weather was not very friendly but of course I enjoyed it until it started snow.

It reminds me a little of my trip up to the middle-station of Mount Fuji over ten years ago. Unfortunately it was a very misty and cloudy day and even at the base of the mountain I was unable to see the top!
I have actually enhanced this a lot and you can still only just about see the summit.
This is at the highest point that cars and coaches can reach.
Shots taken using a Canon EOS-30D and 28-80 USM lens (apart from the last one which was taken using a 17-35).
You have really been to many places, Ian. I've never been to that highest point in the past two decades or so. While I lived in Tokyo, I went to Mr. Fuji often but it was film days. I have no digital photo of Mount Fuji.
I did not know that you were a Canon user before. What made you change your mind?

I was loaned a Canon EOS D30 (3 megapixel DSLR!) for this trip to Japan as I was a guest of Canon
But I had been using a Canon EOS-100 film SLR since the early 1990s. This had the 28-80 f/3.5-5.6 USM kit lens which I used on this trip, but I was also lent a 17-35 f/2.8 L-series lens for the Japan trip.
Despite 7 visits to Japan I have not seen Mount Fuji better than in my shot in this thread. I am told that I missed the view from the Shinkhansen (bullet train) between Tokyo and Kyoto several times because I was asleep!
Thanks a lot Pol.
It locates at Yuzawa city, Akita Pref. I wanted to show it using a link to Google Map but I think I forgot how to do it.
I wanted to show a screen shot of the map instead but can not find "attachment" function anymore. Was it disabled, I wonder. - just murmuring.

Got it, thanks. Way up further north than Fukishima, north west of Sendai.
Here's a link to the Google Map though you may have to click on the link on the left side of the page to get to Yuzawa city, Akita Pref. The names of the surrounding mountains are well marked on the Google map, thanks.
Ian disabled the attachment function a few weeks ago as people were using 'attachments' in the critique forum rather than using normal gallery links.
