HaHa I love these characterful birds and all their squabbling and squawking. We used to get dozens of juveniles on the feeders in the garden until this year - none! I do a monthly report on my "patch" for the local bird club and have noticed fewer large flocks congregating this Autumn - I hope this is not reflected in numbers overall in UK or Europe.
Not noticed any reduction in numbers here David.
I love it when they bring their young ones. Its so entertaining watching them scurrying after mum with their beaks wide open.
We noticed the first birds on our feeder today - pleasing as it has taken a short while to get them there.

That's just one of 11 Barr1e. 3 are open trays which get supplied every morning and the rest are hangers.
Now the birds have found your feeders they will be regular visitors and the numbers will increase. Its the perfect time for new feeders to be discovered. They will come and go all through winter......so long as you keep them filled.
