  • MOON Plus

As "Moon" pictures seem to be in vogue at the moment

I did this to show someone just how easy it was to "Shoot the Moon" as there is quite a lot of light coming from it.

Imaging their surprise, when I showed them this:

As you will guess, it is a composite image, as getting the track of the ISS and Moon to co-inside with the clouds in the UK is akin to winning the Lottery

I think Devilgas here actually managed the lottery win version of this shot

      Re: MOON Plus

The trusty PC has failed completely - I am hopeful the situation improves next week, otherwise I'll be joining the crew on the ISS.

I had the E-5 out last night and I have struggled to get the pic the way I think it should look- so difficult on a tiny notebook.

I hope Graham you don't mind me latching on to your thread rather than start another.

      Moon - 2nd November 2012

      E-5 - 70-300 lens - M. mode - f.8 -iso 100 etc

Hi Barr1e - was this on a tripod? I would suggest ISO 200 and maybe use full aperture rather than f/8. You would get a significantly faster shutter speed and I think that might have sharpened up your shot. Also, did you you use an anti-shock delay on your E-5?

Not at all, the more the merrier...

Talking of which, I did explore juxtaposition a few years ago:

Most just saw it as two full moons

            Hi Ian -

            Thanks for the suggestions.

The E-5 was hand held with IS on etc - I have taken the moon just a few times before and was prompted by Keith's image to have another attempt the following day/night. Our rear garden is surrounded quite closely by other properties and close to a main road, so night time suffer with quite a light source.

I shall try your settings next time and post the results.

            Regards. Barr1e
