Sunset - Indonesia

Hi,

I haven't done too much this last year, due to wrok and personal life.

Location, location, location! These are from one evening near my house in Indonesia, followed in another post by the very next morning.

They are a combination of pushed colour/HDR and OOC depending on the look I wanted. I love some of the hues - all visible to the naked eye, but using Photoshop I could play around to get the look and feel I wanted.

I hope you enjoy. All taken with an Olympus E-400 with Benro tripod, no filters and a lot of luck as a storm broke before sunset and, next, sunrise!

These are excellent - and I have more boring background to share; I lived in Jakarta in the early 70s (in 1971 I was 10 years old). I had my first working camera when we were there, a plastic semi-toy roll film camera which leaked light! But it was one of those things that sparked what has become a life-long interest

Have you been to Malaysia and the Philippines? I lived in KL before we moved to Jakarta and I have lived in Manila as my mother was a Filipina (my father is a Brit - he now lives in Thailand).

My father gave me a camera when I was a kid, and he developed his own photos. He was absent from my life until I was 9, and sporadically thereafter, but he left an impression. He shot only B&W.

Have you been to Malaysia and the Philippines?

KL for a stopover, but only to snap the Petronas towers at night!


We have friends from the Phillipines, and plan to go there next year.
