My wife had a cataract operation on Monday and she is full of wonderment at being able to see clearly. Last night I was showing her some family pics that she hadn't been able to see properly before. Among them I found 4 bird photographs that should have been elsewhere. I don't think they have been seen before so::

Great news about the outcome of the cataract surgery, Pops! I've resigned myself to reading glasses for the first time - it's literally opened my eyes to reading and looking at things moderately close up. I did get some bifocals last year but they didn't work for me.

As usual - your garden bird shots are superb; the robin is in great condition. It's gone rather quiet in my garden bird-wise - time of the year?

She is still undecided as to having the other one done. There was a great deal of unexpected pain during the op which has put her off a bit. Depends on the docs response when she tells him about it in a few weeks time. Could have been an anesthetic problem because most claim to have felt nothing.

My garden is never free of birds
Will have to be stocking up on nuts now that Autumn is getting under way.
