The colour tone of the first puts me off, however, if the lady wasn't present it would make a kitchen material or wallpaper design.
I do like the last shot. The state of the doorbells and the flaking paint do give a lot of indication as to the state of the building.
I like the idea behind the first one but it isn't technically good enough (begging your pardon! ) - it looks like it has a bit of camera shake and really needs to be pin sharp. I like the last one. I'm lost with the middle one though.

Don't be sorry for your honest views. I appreciate the feedback. Maybe I should explain my thinking behind the shots.
Picture one, taken handheld with a compact camera. There was a lot of noise in the original too, although it was a little sharper than the processed version. To me there is a little story here (to me). The lone woman, dressed in black, has arrived late at the deserted cafe and is about to search in her bag for cigarettes? phone? to make sure she has cash? The place looks as though it is deserted. Two tables cleared and one with two coffee cups, placed close as though a couple have had an intimate chat over their coffees (the cups are close together) a sharp contrast to the lone woman in black. To me the obvious deficiencies in the photographic process are irrelevant, although I have attempted to keep the viewers interest in the shot by darkening the edges, perhaps the tone was a step too far!
Picture two is a sculpture in the quarry that is gradually emerging from the rock. It has changed and been altered over the years that I have observed it. I just like the feeling that it is returning to stone.
Picture three is very much a personal illustration of place. Anyone who has been to Annecy in France will recognise the vibrant paint and rather dilapidated buildings that populate that area of the town. One can't photograph the whole place so this just brings memories of the place back to me.
Sorry about my clumsy explanations, I should stick to pictures!
Thanks for your comments, and how about a few of your own, not quite perfect, images that you like despite or because of the deficiencies?
