  • Monarch of the Glen? Last of the Scottish pix.

We didn't get to see any deer and were also quite disappointed when the boat trip was called off due to the weather - so no sea eagles either. We did get to see red squirrels.

Due to pressure of a project I am working on I have only managed to process a few more images. I hope these fit the bill so as to speak.

Monarch of the Glen? I don't think so!

Highland Cattle this one had been scratching her nose on the rocks for several minutes and then needed to lick the soreness away.

Shipwrecked One from the trio in my first ramblings of our Scottish trip.

The Big Hoose I had to end here as the kindness shown by StephenL (forum member www.fourthirds-user.com) and Ro his wife will remind Ann1e and I of a wonderful holiday finishing on a high.

Nice set, Barrie. Maybe not "Monarch" of the glen but a fine specimen nevertheless. I really, really like "Rugged Coastine," I think it's a terrific shot.

And I particularly liked the animal pictures.

The rugged coastline and the valley shot are a typical example of Scotland's beauty.

              Hello you gorgeous, hairy Bull

Now stop rubbing your nose on rocks and licking it clean - well at least stop doing it in public.

Beautiful pics, Barrie. Did you drive yourself up there by car or was it a package deal, maybe by coach?

Thanks JohnP, Tom, TheBull1875, Pops and Pol and to those I haven't responded to in the earlier threads.

The Scottish scenes were truly inspiring and you need several weeks to fit it all in - unfortunately we did it in two.

                  Pol -

We drove some 2000+ miles - many of those on the scenic routes ie one track roads. Fortunately the schools were back and the travellers seen were probably drawing the OAP.
We were pleased to see many roads had recently been given a coat of tarmac, so the old girl we were in purred along.
I still have a few hundred pix to go through and unless I have a real corker to show that's your lot.

                  Regards. Barr1e

ps I did the driving as Anne is not allowed to drive my car. I have had her (the car) from new since 1998 and Anne since 1963 (that's when we met ).

Got any pictures of the car in Scotland?

David's also had his car since it was new (1996). It's our only car now since I sold my old Micra 18 months ago. We're forunate enough to have a very good local garage who can maintain all the vehicles, including the campervan. So we hang onto what we have and they keep David's Rav4 and the camper running perfectly. They also bought my Micra and use it as a courtesy car, I had the Micra from new (1991) and sold it to them when it was almost 20.

Top-notch garage - very reasonable charges too AND they collect and deliver the car(s) and camper for MOT, servicing or whatever.

You should hang onto your car if you like it and it's in good order! I can't see David parting with the RAV4 anytime soon (though I hate the wretched thing myself).

Here she is bathed in sunshine - the first real day of our Scottish travels. Our hopes re the weather were high, but this is Britain.

Lovely picci and I can see why you'd have had high hopes about the weather.

I reckon you deserve a medal as big as a frying pan for doing all that driving despite the rain, wind and gales you must have encountered! Well worth it though to see all you did and get such an impressive photographic record.
