  • Scottish trip - part two. Scenes from Iona.

    Iona Abbey
The seat of Christianity in Scotland and Northern England, the Iona Abbey, originally just the small building to the right of the cross, was founded by St. Columba, who arrived from Ireland.

The kilted gentleman when asked if he would pose kindly agreed. Yours truly forgot to ask his name but we did thank him lots.

    Iona Nunnery part of it.

    Iona Gallery + Pottery

Iona light appearing - we had heard of the 'special light' of Iona and wished it had stayed a little longer than it did.

Iona post office which serves a community of some ninety people who live on the Island.

Fantastic series, Barrie. Truly a very special trip!

I love them all, including the video, though I agree with John that the Gallery and Pottery is the one that stands out. The chap in the kilt also adds something special ... kind fella for posing like that.

Not an easy thing to pick a favourite but the gallery & Pottery does have a slight edge. The extra lighting does it.

fantastic pics. I would also love to see Horacio's pics if he went to Iona :-)
Just because cliches are cliches does not make them wrong. I do like walking in the rain.
