    Re: Memories

I passed my driver's test in 1962 in a 1961 Ford Falcon station wagon and managed to back into a Cadillac six weeks later.....

I think I posted this before but I'll share it again.

      Re: Memories

Thanks for sharing that Pat - I think I had seen it before, but we didn't see many of those over here.

I don't think there's many photos of my old cars surviving (unless they're somewhere in the pile that I'm gradually scanning in) although I did see a Dauphine at the Monte Carlo motor show a couple of years ago:

I hasten to add that mine was nothing so dramatic - drab beige for a start! It also had a roof...

I think this was one of the car's I learned to drive in, unless it was the dreaded Cortina that my dad never let me near as the gearbox was so unreliable... I know I was learning around that time (1970)

Unlike Al, I like my modern car... I did think of getting a two-seater a few years ago but so glad I didn't: for one, I'd never have got my mother's wheelchair in when that became necessary and my partner is far too tall to fit in most of them anyway!
